To Be A Pilgrim...

To be a Pilgrim you must hear the call.
Jesus addressed His very first followers
with an invitation - "Follow Me."

Such is the call laid before all seekers after truth in every age.  It is a call to embark on a great journey, a pilgrimage of discovery, a spiritual quest.

At every step of that quest you will have the promise that the Living God will be walking with you.

It is no little thing to embark on a voyage that is going to take the rest of your life and whose final destiny is eternal rather than temporal.

You must count the cost.  To follow Christ requires the restructuring of your whole life.  You need to develop a love for Him that makes all other loves in your life seem like mere shadows in comparison to His light.

You must go with the flow of wherever this journey will lead.  There will be joys and tears, victory and frustration.

Along the road you will find many companions.  Some will be fair weather friends, but others you will grow to love enough to die for.

And all the time your focus must be Jesus Christ.  Under the influence of His Spirit, the bible will become words of God that strike you at the core of your being.

As you seek to mould your life with His Kingdom values you will be both challenged and changed.

He died on a Cross at Calvary to be your Savior.  He was raised from a tomb to be your Life.  His Spirit can bring the things of the Kingdom of God to focus in your daily life.

There is no higher vocation in life

than to be a

Pilgrim follower of Jesus Christ.

Rev. Adrian Pratt
