Community Advent Services
These services are sponsored by the
Greater Beckley Ministerial Association. All will begin at 12:00 noon with a light lunch to follow, for which your donation
is requested (usually $3). An offering will be taken during the services, and proceeds will go to the Carpenter's Corner.

Music After the Parade
Following the Christmas parade on Saturday,
December 5th, Beckley Presbyterian Church will hold their annual Christmas Music program at approximately 2:30 PM.
This event is open to the community and will feature our Handbell Choir, the organ, and various school choirs.
Cookies and hot cocoa will be served outside the front door. Come and enjoy!
Radio Broadcast
The Sunday sermon, as well as other excerpts from
the Worship Service, is broadcast each Sunday evening on WJLS 99.5 at 7:00 PM.
Exercise Classes
Three mornings a week people from both the church and the community are
invited to meet in Friendship Hall (lower level) to enjoy some healthy exercise. On Mondays and Wednesdays
at 10:00 AM the class is called Positive Moves and uses an exercise video. On Fridays at
9:00 AM it
is a Line Dancing class.
YMCA "Happy Kids" Preschool / Day Care
The first floor of the Educational Building is used daily by the YMCA
Happy Kids preschool / day care program. For more information about this program, contact either the YMCA
or the church office.
The Shepherd's Center
The Shepherd's Center is "The Fun Spot for Seniors" from all churches
in the community. They meet at the Beckley Presbyterian Church every Tuesday, 9:00am, September-May, and offer activities, classes, fellowship,
and lunch. Visit the Shepherd's Center website for more information.
The Carpenter's Corner
The Beckley Presbyterian Church prepares and serves lunch on the 2nd
and 4th Wednesdays of each month at The Carpenter's Corner soup kitchen, which is located on Prince Street in
the First Christian Church Education Building. This is in conjunction with other area churches who serve on various
days of the week. Those wishing to help or contribute in some way should contact the church.
AA Meetings
Alcoholics Anonymous
(AA) has meetings at the Beckley Presbyterian Church every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday at Noon. These meetings
are on the second floor of the Educational Building next to the church. For places and times of other meetings in the
area, click here.

Dr. William
dePrater became the new interim pastor for Beckley Presbyterian Church as of August 2, 2009. He was an inspiration
to all of us as we welcomed him on his first Sunday of preaching. "Bill" is no
stranger to this Presbytery. He served as Associate in Huntington for many years before going on to be a senior
pastor in other churches. He most recently served as Executive Presbyter
and Treasurer in the Mississippi Presbytery. More...

Rev. Janice M. Tiedeck, Associate Pastor of Beckley Presbyterian Church, was born in
1980 in Hornell, NY. She graduated with a BS degree from Eastern University near Philadelphia, after which she attended and graduated from Palmer Seminary in PA. She was ordained at BPC and installed as the Associate Pastor in May 2007. more...
